A survey by YouGov found that only 25% of British people trust food from the United States, the same level of trust as Kenya and Brazil, and only 11% trust food from China. The UK public trusts domestic food, with 84% trusting food from Britain, and trust is highest in vegetables, fruit, bread, and milk, but lower for meat and fish. The report will be repeated annually to track levels of trust in domestic and imported food. The government and food industry are called upon to improve transparency in the food service and out-of-home supply chains to maintain trust in food in the UK.
