Ukraine actively purchases potatoes from Europe

Ukraine is forced to actively purchase potatoes from European countries in the midst of harvesting. This was reported by TASS with reference to analysts from the Eastfruit portal. According to experts, since the beginning of the current month, 22 tons of the root crop have already been imported to the country from Lithuania and 42 tons from Poland. The article reports that Ukraine purchased this vegetable before. In particular, from January to August of this year, the country imported 15 thousand tons of potatoes. During these eight months, Ukrainian vegetable growers also supplied it abroad, but in small quantities - 760 tons. The portal's analysts named three reasons for Ukraine's acute need for this root crop. The first of them was the poor harvest of this crop among local agricultural producers themselves.
