Despite the ongoing war, Ukraine has managed to set a new record in blueberry exports in 2022, as reported by EastFruit analysts and the International Blueberry Association (IBO). The country ranked 8th globally in terms of blueberry plantation area, showing significant growth especially in China, Peru, and the USA. With a resilient harvest despite challenges, Ukraine exported to EU countries like Denmark, Netherlands, and Germany, achieving a 10% increase in fruit and berry crop production in 2021. The war has also encouraged forestry enterprises in the Khmelnytskyi region to expand their vegetable and berry cultivation, contributing to food production and economic resilience.
