The European Commission has reported a slight 1% increase in the volume of agricultural meal imports for the current season compared to the previous one, totaling at 1% more than the previous season's volume. The import structure has seen a notable shift, with a significant 18% rise in sunflower meal imports, whereas soybean and rapeseed meal imports have decreased by 2% and 3% respectively. Ukraine has emerged as a more dominant supplier, contributing 11% to the total meal imports to the EU, marking a substantial increase from 5% in the previous season. The EU has imported over 2.1 million tons of meal from Ukraine, marking a doubling of imports for soybean meal and a 2.1-fold increase for rapeseed meal, and a 14% rise for sunflower meal. Concurrently, Ukraine's total meal exports to the EU have surged by 36% to 2.92 million tons, with notable increases in the exports of rapeseed meal, sunflower meal, and soybean meal.
