Ukraine reduced the import of lard by 47.1% in the first half of the year

During the first half of 2024, Ukraine experienced a significant decrease in imports of lard, pork fat, and poultry fat, with volumes down by 47.1% compared to the same period in the previous year, totaling 6.4 thousand tons. The monetary value of these imports also saw a decrease, by 33.1%, amounting to $8.5 million. The main suppliers of these products were Poland, Spain, and Germany, accounting for 48.1%, 22.5%, and 12.5% of the imports, respectively. Additionally, the cost of pork is reportedly on the rise.
