Ukraine is among the top five wheat suppliers to the European Union with an export of 1.5 million tons from July to November 2022, a significant increase from the previous season. The country also saw a rise in the export of barley and corn to the EU, making it the second-largest supplier of these grains. Despite the global cereal production forecast to decrease by 1.8% in 2022, Ukraine's domestic market will have enough wheat and buckwheat for its consumers, avoiding any shortage.
