Ukraine's agricultural sector has been negatively impacted by the full-scale invasion of Russia, with the agro-industrial complex experiencing losses across the board. The war has also led to problems with power supply, and apple production has seen negative trends due to insufficient pesticide use and adverse weather conditions. These issues, along with logistical problems caused by the war, have resulted in a decline in apple exports this season. Farmers are finding it difficult to sell their crop, and next year's cultivation is expected to be more expensive due to increasing direct costs. The head of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association, Taras Bashtannik, is urging farmers to organize the export of their products and is open to the idea of state assistance through concessional loans. However, he also points out that not all farmers may be able to meet the criteria for grant assistance due to the current economic situation.
