Ukraine has seen a significant increase in cheese imports, with over 26,000 tons of rennet cheese and 4,000 tons of processed cheese imported in the first three quarters of the year, making European cheeses a major part of the market. The low prices of imported cheeses, such as Gouda/Edam at 133 UAH/kg and Maasdam, Radomer, or Royal cheeses at 160 UAH/kg, are making it difficult for domestic producers to compete. As a result, cheese exports have decreased tenfold, with the majority of exports going to Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Uzbekistan.
