Ukrainian rapeseed processors ask to allow import of GMO raw materials

Rapeseed processors are calling on the parliament to amend the current law on GMO regulation and allow the import of genetically modified rapeseed into Ukraine with subsequent re-export of products made from it. This was stated in an exclusive comment by Stepan Chernyavsky, MP, Deputy Chairman of the Agrarian Committee, following a meeting of rapeseed processors with First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs Taras Vysotsky, the leadership of the State Service for Food Safety, Phytosanitary Service, the State Service for the Prevention of Foodborne Diseases and Pests, and deputies.
