In 2021, Ukraine saw a 3.7% increase in pork consumption compared to the previous year, according to the Association of Pig Farmers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. This rise in pork consumption offset the decreases in beef and poultry consumption, maintaining the average Ukrainian's meat consumption at 53.8 kg per person. The slight inflation in pork prices was noted against a backdrop of significant price increases in beef and chicken. Experts attribute this shift to the economic impact of the pandemic and rising inflation.
