The year 2025 brought a breakthrough in the agricultural exports of the United States to Germany. According to the latest data from the USDA (the US Department of Agriculture), the import of nuts and hazelnuts shows a spectacular increase both in value and quantity compared to the previous year. While in 2024 the export value was around 905 million dollars (approximately 334.8 billion forints), by 2025 this amount had jumped by more than 50%, reaching 1,402 billion dollars (518.7 billion forints). The volume also increased significantly: the exported quantity grew from the previous 166.3 thousand tons to 186.4 thousand tons. Among the product categories, the demand for almonds increased the most. The 2024 trade volume of 54.6 thousand tons expanded to 73 thousand tons in 2025. Interestingly, the market prices also shifted significantly: compared to the average price of 3437 Ft/kg a year earlier, the product was sold at a unit price of 6456 Ft/kg on the German market last year.
