Russia: Ural rapeseed oil and flax seeds are of great interest in China

Last year, exports of flax seeds and vegetable oil from the Sverdlovsk region to China increased 2.5 times, and since the beginning of 2024, supplies have been increasing. The past year has become important for the agricultural exports of the Sverdlovsk region in terms of the supply of two items of agricultural products to the PRC. In 2023, exports of flax seeds and vegetable oil from the region to China increased 2.5 times. A total of 10,606.42 tons of flax and 43,537.3 tons of rapeseed oil were shipped. A significant increase in supplies of Ural flax seeds and oil is due to the high demand for this product in China. People in China use flax seeds in cooking and oil production, and also add flaxseed to feed mixtures for their livestock.
