In March 2025, Uruguayan beef exports experienced a significant increase in both price and volume. The average export price per ton rose by 2% to reach $4,790, a year-on-year increase of 21%, with the United States being the primary market. Despite a decrease in shipments to China, there was a notable growth in exports to the European Union. The domestic cattle market remained stable, with strong industrial demand. Meanwhile, the first shipment of live cattle to Israel, containing between 3,000 and 4,000 animals, is scheduled for late April or early May, and turkey remains a significant market despite political instability and currency devaluation. In the first quarter of the year, Uruguay exported 58,607 live cattle, primarily to Turkey.
