The Uruguayan Rice Producers Association (ACA) has reported that the progress of the 2022/2023 rice harvest has reached 18% nationwide. The total area for this harvest is 159.7 thousand hectares. The northern department regions of Artigas and Salto are leading the harvest with 33%, followed by 7% each in the central and eastern zones. The ACA is optimistic about achieving average yields, thanks to the planting of high potential cultivars, optimal planting times, and favorable lighting conditions.
