US$ 9.236 billion: Brazilian beef exports in 2021 grew 9% compared to 2020

CATTLE IN REFRIGERATORS Marcos Brindicci Total Brazilian beef exports in 2021 (including fresh and processed products) recorded a 9% growth in revenue compared to 2020 turnover. Revenue rose from US$8.485 billion in 2020 to US$9.236 billion in 2021 thanks to the increase in the price of the product in international markets, informed, this Saturday (8), the Brazilian Association of Refrigerators (Abrafrigo), which compiled data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), of the Ministry of Economy. According to the entity, the volume shipped, however, fell by 7%, from 2,016,223 tons in 2020, a record year in exports, to 1,867,594 tons in 2021. Abrafrigo also released the December figures for total exports of beef. The movement in the last month of last year reached 151,593 tons compared to 168,155 tons in 2020, down 10%.
