U.S. apple growers are expecting high yields for the second year in a row, with a total production of 259,517,252 bushels for the 2024/2025 crop year, a decrease of -10.1% compared to the previous year, according to the U.S. Apple Association. Gala remains the most popular variety, followed by Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Fuji. However, Honeycrisp production may plateau due to increased competition with Gala and Red Delicious. Fresh apple exports have seen a significant increase of 44% due to abundant domestic supplies, competitive pricing, and positive trade policies, while imports have decreased by 15%.
