US apple production in 2024-2025 to reach nearly 260 million bushels

(Agraria.pe) After record production last year, U.S. apple growers are expecting another year of high yields, according to a new report released by the U.S. Apple Association (USApple) at the organization's 129th annual conference in Chicago. The report, authored by Chris Gerlach, USApple's vice president of outlook and analysis, is based on estimates recently released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). According to USApple's analysis, total U.S. apple production for the 2024/2025 crop year will be 259,517,252 bushels. This represents a decrease of -10.1% compared to last year's final production figure. "Growers across the United States are reporting excellent crop quality," Gerlach said. These figures are more comprehensive than the USDA data, which only takes into account the seven major apple-producing states.
