MINNEAPOLIS — Following recent news about the closure of a beef plant by Tyson Foods and the reduction of capacity at another, Cargill confirmed the completion of a facility renovation at its beef processing plant in Colorado.

A Cargill spokesperson declared: "We are confident that we have the appropriate presence to support the current and future market, and we will continue to operate our main beef processing plants in North America. In fact, we not only operate them, but we also invest in them." In June 2025, the food company announced that it would invest nearly 90 million dollars in automation and new technologies at its Fort Morgan, Colorado beef plant as part of its Future Factory initiative. The inauguration of this project is scheduled for December 2, 2025. A future automated solution will be CarVe, Cargill's proprietary computer vision technology, with a patent pending. The program will allow for real-time measurement of red meat performance, enabling frontline managers to share feedback with employees to improve cutting techniques.
