U.S. tariffs drive coffee prices up by 30 - 40% since the beginning of August

Business & Enterprise Update on global coffee prices Domestic coffee prices in Vietnam have increased by 24% (24,000 VND/kg) since the beginning of August, rising from 99,800 - 100,000 VND/kg to 123,500 - 124,000 VND/kg. On the London exchange, the price of robusta coffee futures for September 2025 delivery closed last week at 4,758 USD/ton, up 40% (1,357 USD/ton) since the beginning of August and marking the highest level in three months. The November 2025 futures increased by 39.6% (1,319 USD/ton) compared to the end of last month, reaching 4,650 USD/ton. On the New York exchange, the price of arabica coffee futures for September 2025 delivery also increased by 32.1% (94.9 US cents/pound) over the same period, rising to 390.65 US cents/pound – the highest level in 3.5 months.
