The United States, being the third largest global tea importer, consumed 86 billion servings of tea in 2023, primarily black and green tea. Despite a 12.9% decrease in tea imports in 2023 due to poor supply chains and high inventories, consumption remained steady and imports rebounded by 11.2% by December. Organic tea imports, especially green tea, also saw an increase. China continues to be the largest supplier of organic tea to the U.S., despite a drop in imports from the country.
