The USDA's 2024 Non-Citrus Fruit and Nut Crop Report shows a mixed performance for U.S. specialty crops. While some fruits and nuts saw increased yields and values, others declined due to various factors. Highlights include a 5% drop in apple production but a 2% increase in total crop value, a 53% growth in avocado production with an 115% rise in value, and a 23% increase in blueberry production valued at US$1.15 billion. Nut production was led by almonds with 1.202 billion kilos, valued at US$5.66 billion, despite pistachio and walnut production falls. The value of hazelnuts saw a significant increase of 28%.
