Mr. Nguyen Van Kinh, a resident of Tan Huong village, earns his living by catching field eels in Nghe An province, Vietnam. He releases around 120 eels, weighing between 2 to 3 kg, into his rice fields with at least 3 cm of water daily. The eels are attracted by a special bait made from earthworms and field crabs. The caught eels are then sold for a profitable price, with smaller eels fetching 120,000 VND per kilogram and larger ones selling for 160,000 VND per kilogram. This profession not only provides a good income but also allows him to enjoy his leisure time and contribute to the conservation of the eel population in their natural habitat.
