Uzbekistan is set to boost its raspberry production by developing new plantations spanning 300 hectares in the Fergana region, as reported by EastFruit and the National News Agency of Uzbekistan. This expansion, aimed at benefiting 1000 families and featuring facilities for cultivation, storage, and processing, underscores the country's efforts to capitalize on the current record high global prices for fresh and frozen raspberries. Currently, Uzbekistan exports a minimal amount of raspberries, mainly to Kazakhstan and Turkey, but with improvements in freezing technologies, it could significantly increase production and exports on a global scale. The project's initiation marks a positive change in Uzbekistan's raspberry industry, which has remained underdeveloped for freezing and exporting berries.
