The Uzbekistan government has approved a resolution to boost the production of lemon and related products. The plan includes the construction of greenhouses in populated areas and leased lands, which can be purchased with a seven-year installment payment, including a three-year grace period. The country will also allow the import of equipment for the production of lemon jam, preserves, and lemonade, with leasing options. Lemon producers will benefit from loan refinancing and preferential interest rates. By 2025, an inventory of all lands used for lemon cultivation will be conducted and posted online. The government will also host a competition to develop new lemon varieties that are resistant to drought and cold.
