Russia's Ministry of Agriculture has proposed a draft government resolution to introduce a 10% Value Added Tax (VAT) on livestock breeding products from the next year. The tax will be applicable to adult cattle, calves, purebred sheep, goats, breeding pigs, live farm poultry, breeding freshwater fish, and certain reproductive materials like sperm and embryos. Until now, these products have enjoyed zero VAT. The resolution is part of the implementation of a law signed by President Vladimir Putin, aiming to change the tax payment procedures for various fees and premiums.
