The Middle East is a significant market for Vietnam's tuna exports, ranking as the fourth largest market following the US, EU, and CPTPP. The region is particularly important for Israeli, Egyptian, and Lebanese markets. Exports to Israel have seen a notable increase of 39% in 2021, while exports to Egypt and Lebanon have experienced a decline. As of the first 10 months of 2021, Israel is the second largest tuna market for Vietnam, accounting for 6% of the total tuna value. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for tuna imports in the Middle East is expected to rise, with 28 enterprises currently exporting to this market. Leading companies like Tuna Vietnam, Tan Phat Canned Food, and Bidifisco are playing a crucial role in this growth.
