Vietnam is set to expand its fruit and vegetable exports, with passion fruit soon to be approved for the US market and existing exports to Australia expected to grow. The country's fruit and vegetable exports, primarily durian and dragon fruit, have seen significant growth, reaching a record high of US$7.2 billion this year with a target of US$8 billion next year. However, there are hurdles to overcome, including increased EU inspection of imported goods and the need for more processing to increase added value. Despite these challenges, the quality of Vietnamese fruit products is improving, meeting import standards and enhancing competitiveness in high-end markets.
