New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have agreed to open the market for Vietnamese lemon and pomelo exports to New Zealand. This makes lemon and pomelo the fourth and fifth Vietnamese fruits to be exported to New Zealand, following mango, dragon fruit, and rambutan. The agreement is a step towards exploring more trade opportunities between the two countries. In 2021, the trade turnover of agriculture, forestry, and fishery products between Vietnam and New Zealand reached nearly $550 million, accounting for 41% of the total bilateral trade.
