Vietnam's algae industry strives to export 500,000 tons by 2030

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam will propose to the Prime Minister to build the seaweed industry into a major industry in the fishery sector. At the same time, it will promote the establishment of a seaweed association to create development space for the industry and strive to increase seaweed production to the goal of 500,000 tons by 2030. ​ At present, the seaweed planting area in Vietnam reaches about 165,000 hectares, and the output reaches about 150,000 tons.
