Vietnam is experiencing a significant decrease in mangosteen production, with prices dropping by half compared to three months ago due to hot weather and insufficient irrigation. The harvest has decreased by 30-50% in Hau Giang Province and Can Tho City, and by up to 60% in Binh Duong Province. This, coupled with the early harvest of Thai mangosteens, has led to a supply surplus and a significant price drop. As a result, the retail price of Vietnamese mangosteens is twice that of Thai mangosteens, despite their lower quality.
