Vietnam's pangasius exports to Canada show steady growth in first three quarters

The value of Vietnamese pangasius exports to Canada showed a positive recovery during the first three quarters of 2024, marked by continuous growth. March 2024 recorded the highest export value, exceeding US$4 million, up 21% from March 2023. However, after several months of growth, pangasius imports from Vietnam to Canada declined in both April and August 2024, with the export value falling to US$3 million, down 17% from the same months of 2023. Despite these declines, exports recovered in the following months. Canada mainly imports frozen pangasius fillets from Vietnam. In the third quarter of 2024, frozen pangasius fillet exports to Canada were worth US$9 million, down 6% from the same period in 2023. In total, Vietnam exported over US$26 million worth of frozen pangasius fillets to Canada in the first nine months of 2024, up 10% year-on-year.
