Soil moisture reserves are currently experiencing high contrast situations. While much of the core area is expecting rainfall to halt the deterioration of summer crops such as soybeans and corn that are undergoing water stress, regions of the NOA recorded rainfall of up to 200 millimeters that left situations of excess. This disparate situation is striking, since even in the core area there are marked differences.
