Walnut harvesting has begun in Demirci.

In the Demirci district of Manisa, the walnut harvest has begun on an area of 13,400 decares, producing approximately 500 tons annually. As of October, producers in Demirci started their work in the fields early in the morning. The harvested walnuts are shaken off the branches using a tree shaker and collected with covers laid on the ground. The walnuts are then placed in sacks, separated from their shells, and spread out in the sun to dry. 76-year-old producer Hüseyin Sönmez, who lives in Akdere Neighborhood, harvests walnuts on his 10-dönüm field with the help of his family and neighborhood residents. Married with three children, Sönmez sells his walnuts, primarily to İzmir, in many provinces.
