REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono ensures that the government is accelerating the recovery of the agricultural sector, including livestock, in the post-disaster areas of Sumatra to return to production. Encountered during the release of assistance from the Indonesian Farmers' Harmony Association (HKTI) for the victims of the Sumatra disaster in Jakarta, Wednesday (31/12/2025), Sudaryono conveyed that based on initial data, around 70 thousand hectares of agricultural land were affected by the disaster, with around 11 thousand hectares experiencing complete loss due to severe damage. "The land that has experienced complete loss is no longer in the form of rice fields. Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture will carry out repairs through the rice field printing program, including the provision of seeds and agricultural machinery so that the land can become productive again," said Sudaryono.
