In 2020, 100 tons of cedar (tar) mushrooms were exported to Japan and South Korea from the regions of Kozan and Feke in Adana, Turkey. These mushrooms are collected by villagers and sold to export companies for between 70 and 100 liras. The Kozan Chamber of Commerce has applied for a geographical indication for the tar mushroom, which is unique to the region. The exports primarily come from the Muğla, Antalya, Mersin, Adana, and Kahramanmaraş regions. Despite the dry climate this year, a total of 100 tons was exported, contributing significantly to the economy, particularly in the Feke and Kozan regions.
