Nasser Karmi-Rad, at the 8th National Caviar Conference, discussed the impact of the ban on commercial fishing of sturgeon in the Caspian Sea since 2010 on sturgeon breeding. He highlighted the alarm felt by the Fisheries Organization since the 60s and the ongoing efforts to reform fish production. Currently, there are numerous caviar fish farms in Iran that are constantly growing, and there is a special program in place to increase sturgeon production in these farms.
