During the Qingdao Fisheries Expo, Ecuadorian suppliers increased their prices in the Chinese market by $0.20/kg. Sandro Coglitore, the general manager of Ecuadorian producer Omarsa, told UCN in an interview that the price of raw shrimp will continue to rise and at least remain stable, with no possibility of a drop.

India prices remain stable

In the 46th week, the price of white shrimp in Andhra Pradesh, India, remained the same as the previous week. Production recovery after the typhoon is proceeding normally without major issues.

Sheraz Anwar, the general manager of Indian exporter Abad Overseas, told UCN: "The impact of the hurricane was not significant, and the infrastructure is functioning smoothly. The harvest season has not yet arrived, and the production of white shrimp and black tiger shrimp is relatively low."

Indonesia prices remain stable

In the 46th week, the price of white shrimp in Indonesia remained basically the same as the previous week. The Indonesian Marine Fisheries Agency, in accordance with FDA requirements, has provided cesium-137 testing and related certification to exporters.

The first batch of cesium-137-free shrimp products was sent to New York and Los Angeles, USA, on October 31, and the second batch was sent to Miami and Jacksonville on November 1.

Vietnam prices continue to rise

Among all the major white shrimp exporting countries, only Vietnam's raw material prices continue to rise. The price for 30 count (per kg) has increased by VND 4,000/kg ($0.15/kg), and for 40-90 count, it has increased by VND 2,000/kg.

A UCN source pointed out that the supply of Vietnamese white shrimp to large local processing factories continues to decline, and the number of 80 count and above specifications is getting smaller, so the processing factories have increased their raw material procurement prices. Currently, the gap between Vietnamese and Thai white shrimp prices is narrowing.

Thailand shrimp prices start to rise

In the 46th week, the price of white shrimp from South America in Thailand increased slightly, with the price for 60 count rising by THB 2.5 ($0.07)/kg compared to the previous week, while the price for 70 and 80 count remained the same as the previous week.
