On October 15, the newly revised "Anti-Unfair Competition Law of the People's Republic of China" officially came into effect. Targeting new forms of unfair competition in the development of the platform economy, Article 13 of the new law specifically strengthens the rules of online competition. It explicitly prohibits operators from using data, algorithms, and platform rules to implement three types of behaviors: one is coercive redirection, malicious uninstallation, and other behaviors that disrupt the normal operation of other operators' services; two is the acquisition and use of other people's legally held data in an improper manner; three is the abuse of platform rules to implement false transactions, false reviews, malicious returns, and other behaviors that suppress competitors.
