The mainland has banned the import of mangoes from Taiwan, causing concerns for Taiwanese farmers. Minister of Agriculture Chen Jizhong stated that although the ban has little impact, the government should assist farmers in expanding their markets in Japan, the United States, and Singapore, as well as opening up new emerging markets. Chen Jizhong also mentioned that the mainland's ban on mangoes last year lasted only 3 days, and the government worked with producers to ensure fair prices, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to support farmers.
