High temperatures and frost in July have caused significant losses to the second-crop corn and some wheat areas in Brazil, leading to a decrease in corn supply and an increase in demand for wheat derivatives as a substitute in animal feed. As a result, the prices of wheat bran and grain have surged in the Brazilian market. According to Cepea, the average price of bulk wheat bran increased by 84% in July 2021 compared to the same month in 2020, while the price of bagged derivatives rose by 78.5% in the same period.
