Damietta Port has seen significant activity, with 103 ships docking and 12 container ships and 22 general cargo ships leaving, bringing in and exporting a variety of commodities including iron, wood, plywood, corn, wheat, tractors, edible oil, soda, phosphate, urea, cement, sand, salt, ammonium nitrate, soybean meal, and agricultural products like fruits, vegetables, and crops. The port is one of Egypt's oldest and is used for a variety of cargo types.
