Wheat goes through a period of caution

The wheat market in the South of the country is going through a period of caution, with producers and mills awaiting decisions on the upcoming purchase auctions. In Rio Grande do Sul, besides the expectation for support measures, the predicted rainfall of up to 150 millimeters is worrying the sector, potentially compromising the pace of the harvest and the quality of the grains. According to TF Agroeconômica, around 25% to 30% of the wheat that arrives at the port of Rio Grande presents DON levels above 2 ppm, which has limited negotiations and pressured prices. Even with the slow pace, the market remains active. Indications range from R$ 990.00 to R$ 1,030.00 per ton in the interior and from R$ 1,080.00 to R$ 1,130.00 CIF for local mills. Outside the state, buyers are offering up to R$ 1,200.00 CIF in Paraná for delivery in January. In exports, the movement is considered very slow.
