Wheat milling in the Biobío Region of Chile decreased 19.7% in June

A year-on-year decline of 19.7% registered the milling of wheat in the Biobío Region, totaling 9,978 tons in June 2023, according to what was reported by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The performance obtained in the year-on-year analysis was associated with lower processing of wheat products and by-products. Meanwhile, 149,192 tons were processed in the country, a level that presented a decrease of 9.2%, in twelve months, affected by the lower production of wheat products and by-products. 6.7% of the national wheat milling was processed in the Biobío Region. Cumulative Analysis 72,500 tons of milled wheat were processed between January and June 2023, accumulating a negative variation of 10.9%, explained by the lower processing of wheat products and by-products.
