Despite the start of the new harvest in Brazil, domestic wheat prices are expected to remain high due to several factors including firm quotations on the international market, a stronger dollar, and reduced projections for the 2020/2021 Argentine harvest. From January to September 2020, wheat grains FOB to the producer in Paraná saw a significant increase of 31.7%, while in Rio Grande do Sul, quotations rose 1.2%. In the derivatives market, flour prices have remained firm, while wheat bran prices hit record highs in September.
