A meeting between a Mongolian delegation led by the Chairman of the State Great Khural, Gombozhavin Zandanshatar, and the Governor of the Irkutsk Region, Igor Kobzev, along with other officials, resulted in discussions on enhancing cooperation across various sectors such as healthcare, tourism, and agriculture. The meeting highlighted the successful transfer of wheat seeds from the Irkutsk region to Mongolia and the potential for supplying pedigree young cattle. The dynamic growth in trade and economic relations between Mongolia and the Irkutsk region, with trade turnover doubling in 2022 compared to 2021, was noted. Discussions also included the creation of a mining and metallurgical cluster, with Irkutsk Research Technical University potentially serving as the center of a joint educational cluster, and the offer for Mongolia to supply raw materials for the Irkutsk region's light industry cluster.
