Wheat week starts off busy

The week began with increased activity in the wheat market, driven by exports and a slight improvement in the competitiveness of the domestic product against imported wheat, according to TF Agroeconômica. In the South of the country, the movement was uneven among the states, with Paraná facing a cautious scenario, Santa Catarina starting the commercialization of the new crop, and Rio Grande do Sul resuming its exports. In Rio Grande do Sul, the milling wheat market registered deals up to R$ 1,155.00 per ton at the port for December, while the wheat for feed was at R$ 1,120.00. In the interior, prices varied between R$ 1,000.00 and R$ 1,030.00, depending on freight costs. Mills offered values between R$ 1,060.00 and R$ 1,150.00 CIF, depending on the region.
