In the first half of 2024, Turkey experienced a notable shift in its dried fruit export sector, with a decrease in quantity exported from 227 thousand tons to 200 thousand tons, but a significant increase in foreign exchange earnings by 15 percent, reaching 829 million dollars. This upward trend in earnings was attributed to a 30 percent increase in the export price per ton, despite a decrease in the quantity exported. Turkey remains a global leader in the production and export of seedless raisins, dried apricots, and dried figs, and has set a target of 1.8 billion dollars in exports for the year end. The USA has emerged as the second largest market for Turkish dried fruits, following Germany, with exports to the USA increasing by 45 percent. The country also saw a significant growth in pistachio and pine nut exports.
