Limagrain is one of those stories that are born in the countryside and end up playing in the world's top league of agribusinesses. Its origin dates back to 1965 in Auvergne, France, when a group of farmers decided to organize themselves into a cooperative to produce and improve seeds. That cooperative basis still defines the company, which today is the fourth largest seed company in the world and a relevant player in flour, ingredients, and industrial baked goods. In its last fiscal year, the group achieved a turnover of 2,107 million euros, to which are added another 720 million euros in agreements with strategic partners. It brings together more than 9,300 employees in 57 countries and about 1,300 member farmers, who are also the owners of the cooperative.
