Domestic breeders in Russia have developed new varieties of wheat with high frost, drought, and root rot resistance, potentially increasing yields to 140 centners per hectare. Despite these advancements, only five modern wheat varieties have been registered in Turkey, and none in Europe. The government has submitted a new version of the law "On seed production" to the State Duma to regulate seed circulation and counteract genetically engineered seed importation. The Federation Council is promoting the adoption of this law, along with a specific action plan for agriculture and food security in Russia.
