"Wildfire Reconstruction Committee should increase the number of resident-recommended members"

Ahead of the legislative announcement for some presidential ordinance matters under the "Special Act on Relief and Support for Victims of the Extra-Large Wildfire (Wildfire Special Act)," the affected residents strongly demanded that the composition of the reconstruction committee, which decides the compensation standards for damages, should realistically reflect the opinions of the residents. Although the reconstruction committee is composed of no more than 15 members, only one member can be recommended by the affected residents, raising concerns that the actual situation and on-site demands of the victims will not be properly reflected in the policy.
