The autumn harvest has concluded across the country, with wheat production amounting to 7,318,049 tons according to operational data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF). For all major autumn crops, there has been an increase in harvested areas and average yields per hectare compared to the previous year 2024, leading to a rise in the quantities produced, with wheat production up by 8.3%, commented in response to a parliamentary question by Agriculture and Food Minister Georgi Tahov. The sunflower and corn harvest is nearing completion. For corn, 82% of the harvest areas have been reaped, and at this point, production has declined by over 39% on a yearly basis, due to significantly fewer planted areas (-20%) combined with a decrease in average yield per hectare – 18% less.
